Finally, I've broken the curse of the new waveboard. I bought it second hand from K-Bay to replace my Wind Addiction back in November and have been plagued by no wind or house move ever since. Today was different as I managed to get away from a meetingat 5 pm and hit the road to Gwithian. I'd never been there before but it's only half an hour away from my new job so I had to try it with the forecast F5 Southerlies.

Eventually found the right car pak and saw the glint of a few sailors enjoying the perfect peeling four footers with cross off port tack wind. Went for the 4.7 on other peoples recommendation with the new waveboard - perfect (though the climb down to the beach was tricky. Jumped on and the first run out scored 3 decent jumps with a four bottom turn wave ride on the way back. managed to keep some semblance of strength for the next hour and a half before the odd dropped gybe (and zero tack success rate) hinted that my windsurfing fitness is well below par.

A perfect day after 6 months windsurfing drought. It was impressive to see Timo Mullen who was going for goiters and always seemed to catch a perfect wave at the critical section on the way in. Got to be five stars after waiting that long
